The batsmen have to undergo pressure when the ball is swinging. We are guilty for this defeat. The batsmen should have performed responsibly. Rohit said, "We played some bad shots too. When the ball swings, the challenge increases for the batsmen. The team was consistently doing well with several series, so everyone knows what is wrong in this match. When we are playing for our country then we have to do our best.

In this match, New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first and their fast bowlers Trent Boult (21-5) and Colin Grandhom (26-3) best bowled India for 92 runs. This is the seventh lowest score in the ODI team of the Indian team.

Captain Rohit Sharma (7), Shikhar Dhawan (13), Shuvman Gill playing his first match, scored nine while Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik did not open the account from India. Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar scored one each while Khalil Ahmed made five runs. While Chahal scored 18 and Kuldeep scored 15 runs. Both of them shared a 25-run partnership with India to score 92 runs.

Apart from Bolt and Grandholm from New Zealand, James Neesham and Astle succeeded one by one from the Kiwi team.

When the New Zealand team came out to chase the target of 93 runs, their start was very bad. The Kiwi team lost Martin Guptill (14) on the score of 13 runs. Guptill was caught out by Bhuvneshwar Kumar Hardik Pandya. 

After this, Bhuvi once again gave India the breakthrough when he got Kiwi captain Kane Williamson (11) caught by wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik. 

After that Henry Nicholls and Ross Taylor gave New Zealand the best partnership and gave victory. Nicholas 30 and Ross Taylor remained unbeaten after scoring 37.
